A new cemetery was added on 18 March 1979, showing the continued growth and stability of the parish community.
Parish life
The parish is served by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, who are based at Jyoti Niwas in Maina Corgao. Their presence gives the parish a strong educational and pastoral base.
St Xavier Vidyalaya is part of the parish setting, and St Michael Chapel also comes under the parish without its own chaplain.
Feast and devotion
The parish feast of St Francis Xavier is celebrated on 3 December every year. It is the main celebration of the parish and the day most closely connected with the church’s identity.
Masses, novenas and parish events keep the parish active through the year, while the feast remains the high point of parish life.
Church building
The church has the character of a parish church that grew from a simple chapel into a larger community centre. It is modest, but it has become a familiar and important part of village life in Maina Corgao.
The parish grounds and cemetery show how the parish has continued to expand and serve the people over time.
