History

The church was first built in 1653. It was burned and destroyed in 1705, and the present church was later built in 1952 at a short distance from the old site.

The church was blessed on 31 December 1952 and has been administered by the Capuchin friars since 1982.

Parish life

The parish is small but steady. It serves the Catholic families of Revora and also has one of the more attractive village settings in the Bardez region.

The parish is linked with a primary school and with the nearby chapel at Nadora, which falls under its care.

Feast and devotion

The feast of Our Lady of Victory is celebrated on the second Sunday of May every year. It is the main parish feast and a time when the village gathers in celebration.

The parish also holds devotion to St Anthony in October, showing the layered devotional life of the church across the year.

Church building

The present church is a white Neo-Gothic building with three storeys and twin bell towers. Its pointed arches and conical tops give it a striking appearance in the village landscape.

The old church site remains part of the parish memory, but the present building is the one in active use today.
