The Broken Watch
Daniel inherited his grandfather's old watch. It no longer worked, the glass was scratched, and the strap was torn. His cousin laughed and said, "Why keep a useless thing?"
Daniel almost threw it into a drawer and forgot about it. But one evening his mother told him, "That watch stopped working, but it never stopped meaning something."
She explained that Grandfather wore it on his wedding day, at the birth of his children, and even during his last illness. It had measured ordinary hours, but it had also held holy memories.
Daniel took the watch to a repair shop. The watchmaker said, "It will take patience. Old things are delicate."
Weeks later, when the ticking started again, Daniel held the watch to his ear and smiled. He realized he had nearly thrown away something valuable because he only saw what was damaged.
Reflection
From that day, he began seeing people differently too. He understood that a person who is hurting, discouraged or lost is not worthless. Sometimes a wounded life simply needs careful hands, time and love.
